Repairs and Maintenance

Our Co-op is responsible for maintaining our own properties. This responsibility includes structural repairs and the overall asset management of all Co-op properties.
All maintenance and asset works are performed to meet, or exceed, the requirements of the Residential Tenancies Act and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
Works carried out which have a value of over $10,000 require the authorisation of DHHS.

Our tenant-members are responsible for maintaining their homes in a clean and tidy condition as defined in the Residential Tenancies Act 1997.  This includes gardens and backyards.  We have a zero tolerance for car bodies.

Emergency maintenance is defined as an urgent repair that must be carried out promptly to reduce  a threat to your health and safety and is usually related to gas, electricity or water.

Any alterations to properties must be submitted to the Co-op for approval and members’ alterations are not authorised without the knowledge and permission of the Co-op.
